Rowing Medals

Rowing Medals – Engraved Medals for Rowing Competitions

Rowing takes strength, stamina, technique and teamwork. Whether a crew is battling for the line at a regatta or a beginner is completing their first competitive season, there are plenty of achievements worth celebrating. Rowing medals are a great way to recognise race winners, reward individual performances and give crews a lasting reminder of their success on the water. At SportsTrophy.co.uk, our rowing medals category is ideal for rowing clubs, schools, universities, regatta organisers and rowing associations across the UK. Choose medals for championship races, head races, indoor rowing challenges and club presentations, with engraving options to personalise awards for your event.

Rowing Medals for Every Type of Competition

Rowing competitions take place in different formats, from side-by-side racing over a marked course to timed head races and indoor rowing events. Medals can recognise winning crews, individual rowers and participants across a wide range of competitions. Rowing medals can be presented at:

- Regattas: Award medals to winning crews and finalists at local, regional and national regattas.
- Head races: Recognise crews achieving the fastest times over a set course, including events held on rivers and canals.
- Club championships: Celebrate club champions across different boat classes, age groups and levels of experience.
- School rowing competitions: Reward pupils competing for school teams, rowing clubs and inter-school championships.
- University rowing: Present medals at university regattas, inter-university races and student rowing competitions.
- Junior rowing events: Recognise young rowers competing in appropriate age categories and junior crew events.
- Masters rowing: Celebrate achievements in masters competitions and age-group racing.
- Indoor rowing competitions: Award medals for rowing machine races, timed challenges, distance targets and team relay events.
- Coastal rowing: Recognise success at coastal rowing races and events using boats suited to open-water conditions.
- Adaptive rowing competitions: Celebrate achievements by rowers competing in adaptive categories, in line with the event's rules.
- Charity and community rowing events: Mark participation and achievement in fundraising challenges, club open days and community competitions.
- End-of-season presentations: Recognise the crews, rowers and volunteers who have contributed throughout the season.

From a small club regatta to a major championship, medals provide a straightforward way to celebrate the people and performances that make rowing competitions memorable.

Race and Regatta Medals

For organised competitions, traditional placing medals are a popular option. Suggested categories include: Regatta Winners, Rowing Race First Place, Second Place, Third Place, Head Race Champions, Club Championship Winners, School Rowing Champions, University Rowing Champions, Junior Crew Winners, Masters Race Winners, Coastal Rowing Champions and Indoor Rowing Competition Winners. Where a regatta includes different boat classes, you can use separate inscriptions for events such as single sculls, double sculls, pairs, fours and eights. This helps distinguish each race and gives recipients a medal linked to their particular achievement.

Individual Rowing Awards

Although rowing depends heavily on crew coordination, individual awards can recognise a rower's contribution, development and commitment. Consider medals for: Rower of the Year, Most Improved Rower, Outstanding Performance, Best Newcomer, Junior Rower of the Year, Club Member of the Year, Most Dedicated Rower, Coaches’ Award, Outstanding Teamwork, Sportsmanship Award, Personal Best Achievement and Special Contribution to the Club. These categories can work well at club dinners, school presentations and annual awards evenings. Use the competition's own criteria when deciding how individual awards are judged.

Rowing Medals for Schools, Universities and Junior Clubs

Rowing gives young people the opportunity to develop fitness, discipline, teamwork and resilience. School and university competitions are a great setting for recognising both competitive success and personal progress. Rowing medals may be presented for: Inter-school regatta winners, School crew championships, Junior singles and crew events, University rowing competitions, Student rowing leagues, Indoor rowing challenges, Most improved junior rower, Best newcomer, Outstanding effort and commitment, Team spirit and sportsmanship and End-of-season achievements. Participation medals can also be a good option for introductory events, rowing festivals and school challenges where organisers want to recognise everyone who takes part.

Choosing the Right Rowing Medals

Before placing an order, consider the type of rowing event, how many people will receive medals and what information you want to include.

- Competition format: Decide whether you need medals for regattas, head races, indoor rowing, coastal events or club presentations.
- Race categories: Identify the boat classes, age groups and divisions requiring separate awards.
- Recipients: Work out the number of rowers in each winning crew and whether runners-up or finalists will also receive medals.
- Engraving: Check the available personalisation options and make sure the wording fits the medal design.
- Quantities: Prepare a clear list of medal numbers for each event before ordering.
- Presentation date: Allow sufficient time for selecting medals and arranging engraving before race day or your awards evening.

For larger regattas, a simple schedule listing each event, placing and medal quantity can make ordering easier and reduce the chance of missing a category. They can be paired with our full colour range of medal ribbons for team photos and medal cases for individual awards.
