Shields Plaques

Celebrate Achievement with Personalised Shields and Plaques

Some achievements deserve more than a standard trophy. Engraved shields and plaques provide a traditional, professional way to recognise success, reward dedication and commemorate important occasions. From prestigious sporting competitions and annual club presentations to corporate recognition and school prize-giving ceremonies, a personalised shield or plaque creates a lasting reminder of an achievement worth celebrating.

At Sports Trophy Co, we supply shields and plaques for sports clubs, schools, businesses, charities, associations and organisations throughout the UK. Whether you need a single presentation plaque, an engraved shield for a competition winner or a perpetual award that records champions year after year, our range offers options for different occasions, budgets and presentation styles.

Choose an award that suits your event, add the engraving details where available and give your recipient something they can proudly display for years to come.

Engraved Shields for Sports Clubs and Competitions

Shields have a long-standing place in British sporting tradition. They are particularly popular for club championships, league competitions and annual events where winners want to celebrate their achievement and defend their title the following year.

An engraved sports shield can recognise an individual winner, a successful team or an outstanding contribution to a club. Traditional silver-finish shields offer a classic presentation style, while modern designs provide an alternative for contemporary clubs and competitions.

Popular occasions for presenting engraved shields include:

* Football and rugby club awards – recognise league champions, cup winners, player achievements and team success.
* Cricket competitions – present awards for batting, bowling, fielding, club championships and annual team competitions.
* Golf club competitions – celebrate club champions, annual tournaments, captains' prizes and other golfing achievements.
* Darts and pool leagues – reward individual winners, doubles champions, team victories and league success.
* Tennis and racket sports – recognise tournament winners, club champions and outstanding junior players.
* Bowls competitions – present traditional shields for club championships, league winners and inter-club competitions.
* Running and athletics events – acknowledge race winners, team championships and exceptional performances.
* School sports competitions – reward house competitions, inter-school tournaments and annual sporting achievement.

A quality engraved shield gives an award a sense of history and importance. For competitions that return every season, a perpetual shield can help build a tradition that successive winners are proud to be part of.

Perpetual Shields and Plaques for Annual Awards

If you organise a competition that takes place every year, a perpetual shield or plaque is a practical way to record the history of the event. These awards can feature individual nameplates for successive winners, creating a permanent record of champions, teams or award recipients.

Perpetual awards are ideal for sports clubs, golf societies, schools, colleges, professional associations and community organisations. They can be used for annual player awards, club championships, employee recognition, academic prizes, fundraising events and competitions where the winner changes each year.

Depending on the design, perpetual plaques and shields can accommodate multiple engraved nameplates. When choosing an award, consider the number of names it needs to hold, the space available for engraving and whether additional plates may be required in future.

A perpetual award is more than a prize for one year. It becomes part of your organisation's history, connecting past winners with the people who follow them.

Engraved Plaques for Corporate Awards and Employee Recognition

Plaques are an excellent choice for businesses and professional organisations looking for a smart, understated way to recognise achievement. Their flat presentation surface provides space for a recipient's name, award title, company details, date and a suitable message, subject to the product's engraving area.

Corporate plaques are frequently presented at annual award ceremonies, staff recognition events, sales conferences and business celebrations. They can acknowledge outstanding customer service, leadership, innovation, sales performance, long service and significant contributions to a company's success.

They are also suitable for retirement presentations, employee leaving gifts, partnership anniversaries, sponsor recognition and thank-you awards for valued clients or colleagues.

Choose a plaque that complements the occasion, whether you prefer a traditional wood-effect finish, a contemporary design or a more distinctive presentation style. Personalised engraving helps turn a smart award into a meaningful reminder of the achievement being recognised.

School, College and Community Awards

Engraved shields and plaques are popular with educational establishments and community organisations because they offer a lasting way to celebrate achievement. Schools can use them for annual prize-giving ceremonies, academic excellence, attendance, leadership, sports days, house competitions and outstanding contributions to school life.

Colleges and universities may present plaques for academic achievement, student leadership, graduation awards and society competitions. Community groups and charities can use them to recognise volunteers, fundraising efforts, long service and individuals who have made a valuable contribution.

For recurring awards, a perpetual plaque or shield is particularly useful. It allows future winners to be added to the same award, helping establish a tradition and preserving a record of achievement over time.

Memorial, Presentation and Commemorative Plaques

As well as recognising competition winners, plaques can mark important milestones and special occasions. They are suitable for commemorative presentations, club anniversaries, sponsor acknowledgements, community projects, presentations to retiring officials and celebrations of long-standing service.

A carefully chosen plaque with appropriate wording can express appreciation, mark a significant date or record an important contribution. Before ordering, consider the intended display location, the style of the plaque and the amount of text required. If you have a particular wording or presentation requirement, contact our team to discuss suitable options.
